I haven't posted anything recently so I wanted to stop by and say "Hello".

Small update: 1) Have to move soon b/c landlord (married w/  kids) has been coming over late at night, even after being asked not to. 2) Sis just got laid off from work so I'll be moving in with them to help them too. 3) Other Sis may be moving back home soon - Bf has been using/selling drugs and beating her. She got arrested for possession and DCF took the baby for now. 4) Mom's having to tell dad about it today. They may have to go get her. 5) Best friend is having trouble getting custody of his son & people around him are treating him bad. 6) Stress is not having a very good effect on my health at all.

On a good note: I have a good daughter & pets, family & friends that love me, a job, home, vehicle, a few extras and sunshine.

I hope you're all doing well and I hope to be back on here posting better entries soon.

School in 2010
coffeeatmidnyte
I decided to home school my daughter after an episode with her assigned public school this-morning. I walked in to get the registration packet and asked the lady if there would be someone in her class to help her do things she needed such as using the restroom. She said no. They don't do that. Then she asked me if I had an IEP and I told her yes. She said she wasn't aware of any services they had and another guy said they couldn't do anything because they didn't have enough staff anyway. I called DCF (Children's Medical Services) and explained the situation to my family coordinator and he said they are required by law to provide those services; it's not an option!

Oh, Btw, my daughter has a prosthetic for her right leg and her arms are not fully formed so she receives physical and occupational therapy weekly. She is special needs physically. Mentally she's enough to drive a genius nuts! LOL

So, if I put her into this school she's basically not going to get the attention she needs. If I leave her where she is, I have to deal with another year of the changing staff and therapists, lying/cheating office staff and complete lack of concern for the children. Her principal actually asked me to hold her back a grade last year for the sole purpose of going to class with another child (Her best friend). It didn't matter that my daughter is slightly smarter than the other students. She's the only one in the school with a prosthetic that's mentally where she needs to be. The others are behind and all they had to say is "She refuses to conform". NO SHIT SHERLOCK!!! I'm her mother, she's exactly like me! Don't you think I know she has an attitude problem... according to YOU?!?!?!  *sigh*

Anyway, it was a great morning until I told my parents of my intention. I'm amazed at how they tell me so often that I can do anything I put my mind to but as soon as I try to make a decision concerning !!!MY!!! child, they have an issue with it! =((( .... as if I'm 15 trying to raise a child!!! GGRRR Sorry for the rant but this is really bugging me. They always rain on my parade!!!! I HATE IT!!!!

Oh yea... and the school I was really hoping to get her into said they wouldn't have open enrollment (For non-district students) until after the beginning of school. So, ok... 1. I put her in a place where she's not getting her needs met, then change her school, teachers, peers, ect... 2. leave her where she is... not being taught what she needs to know... or 3. Home school her... HHmmm Yeah =(    *rolls eyes*  Thanks big Gov guys and public schools. Great Job *Insert sarcasm*  *sigh*  Now I'm just getting more and more frustrated. I could really use some kind of decent support group around here. Maybe this Sunday I'll actually go to church. There's supposed to be a really good one in town started by a group of single mothers and parents of disabled children.

Idk... for now, I've got to run though. Works over in 1 1/2 hours and I've done nothing but check into school stuff today. I'm also aggravated about it because I thought it was all taken care of and now I'm having to rush to get things done. There's more to the story of her current school than what I posted... I just don't feel like taking more time to add it all.

I hope you're all having a good day. <3

Fun Facts: Venus
coffeeatmidnyte
Venus takes 225 Earth days to complete one orbit of the Sun. And like the other planets in our solar system, Venus rotates about its axis. However, Venus is the only planet that rotates from east to west instead of west to east. This means, that if we lived on Venus, the Sun would appear to rise in the west in the morning, and set in the east in the evening! Even stranger, Venus rotates so slowly that one day on Venus is equivalent to 117 days on Earth.

Friday...
coffeeatmidnyte
Well, it's another Friday at the office... with the family. Sis is getting one of her wisdom teeth taken out today. Bro says he's gonna keep her drugged up all weekend and make her sleep since she won't on her own. Lol They're baby is 4 months old now, no problems and she's still not sleeping like she should. (Sis is my sis-in-law; Sissy is my real sister). I think I'm just mostly going to relax this weekend. I slept worse than usual lately so there's not a whole lot rolling through my mind. I'll start with sleeping in tomorrow... till 'bout 7 when Ivy wakes me up... drink a pot of coffee... maybe weed-eat the yard sometime... unless the tropical storm keeps me inside. Between you and me though, I won't be disappointed if it does.

Enjoy you're weekend everyone!

Writer's Block: Acquired taste

What is your favorite weird food combination? Have your friends ever tried it or do you only eat it in private?

I LOVE a supreme pizza with a full salad on top (French dressing) and Peach schnapps with Cherry Vanilla Dr Pepper. Yummy!  They try the drink... not the pizza.

First of all, I want to send a BIG THANK YOU to everyone's well wishes, thoughts and prayers. They mean so much to me and my family!  You are all very special and wonderful people.

I left work Thursday, picked Ivy up and headed over (1 hr drive) to meet the family. Lots of people I should have expected, but didn't, were there. I was very happy to see them all. Seems like a family reunion these days revolves around a funeral. We sat around by the pool talking about life these days, past memories, ect... waiting for everyone else to show up, met with the preacher to talk about Mamaw and then went to a buffet style supper. It was wonderful!

Friday morning we got up early and headed over for the funeral. Lunch time was fried chicken, potato and macaroni salad, chips and rolls. We had enough to feed the 2 hotel clerks and their 3 cleaning maids. Lol They loved it! Then we all went out to the pool and sat around visiting again for the afternoon. Ivy stayed there that night with Nanny (My grand-mother) and Aunt Charlie. I went with my brother Chris over to Aunt Theresa's. We got on the net and had a good ole' time watching funny videos and chatting. He's 19 and I only feel about 22, despite being 31 so we get along really well and enjoy a lot of the same things. Deb says he and I are more alike than anything she's ever seen. Lol (She's our biological mother. I was adopted before he was born so I don't call her Mom.)

Saturday we got up, had breakfast and drove over to Dad's house to swim and have blackened steaks for dinner. It was absolutely devine!! Dad's an awesome chef. I was only planning on spending that 1 night with everyone but decided to spend another since we don't get to talk or visit near as much as I would like. I took Ivy with me to Aunt Theresa's that night and we still all had a blast. The only problem I had was the cigarette smoke in the house. It made my throat sore for 2 days after we left. ugh =(

So we got up Sunday morning and went to the hotel for breakfast. It was sad seeing everyone go. I'm still not ready to be back at work, even though I've been here 4 days already.

On a side note, I think Dad's finally letting go of the past. I haven't explained it yet, but my Dad adopted me. Biologically he's my uncle. I've lived with him since I was 7 and he's always been the dominate male figure in my life so making the conversion from Uncle John to Dad was really easy for me. Deb made her mistakes. A lot of us forgave her and moved on; others, such as Dad, didn't. He spoke to her briefly 1 1/2 years ago at Papa Dan's (Great-grandfather) funeral but nothing else. She wasn't invited over to his house when everyone else was. It was good to see them talking and laughing together again. That's not to say that we'll forget what happened and completely trust her with everything, but it's hard to live holding grudges in life. We're just more careful about situations.

This week at work has been terribly slow. Dad had us take more pictures of our office building to try to get it sold. It's been on the market for years now though. On a good note, Sissy's baby is doing great! They let him go home Tuesday. He was 6 lbs 14 ounces and 19 inches at birth. Welcome to the world Baby Garrett Lee!!!

I hope you all are doing well and having a wonderful day.
